What is strtr Function?
|
|
Explanation |
|
This function is used to translate certain characters.
Syntax:
strtr(string,from,to)
or
strtr(string,array)
In the above syntax "string" is the text to translate, "from" specifies what characters to change, "to" Specifies what characters to change into. An array containing what to change from as key, and what to change to as value.
Example1:
<?php
$str = "Wab Werld";
$result = strtr($str,"ae","eo");
echo $result;
?>
Result:
Web World
Example2:
<?php
$str = array("Hi" => "Hi", "Folks" => "Dude");
echo strtr("Hi Folks",$str);
?>
Result:
Hi Dude
In the above PHP example1 the strings "ae" are replaced with "eo", in the example2 an array the keys are
replaced with values and displayed as a string.
