What is nl2br Function and how it is used in string?

In PHP the nl2br function is used to insert HTML line breaks(<br/>) before all newlines in a string.
Syntax:
nl2br(string)
In the above syntax "string" specifies strings in which newline character is changed to line breaks
Example:
<?php
echo nl2br("Have a break.\n Break!");
?>
Result:
Have a break
Break
In the above example the string "Have a break.\n Break!" the newline character is replaced with a line break.
